FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
We are often asked...
1. When does the chef arrive?
The chef arrives early, sets up the hibachi grill, and starts at the time you booked. Most parties run 1 to 1.5 hours. Available times are 1:00 PM, 4:00 PM, 7:00 PM, and 9:30 PM.
2. Can you cook indoors?
The cooking show is outdoors. Plan on about 4 × 6 feet for the grill, plus room for your guests to sit and watch. If the space is tight, call and we will look at the address before confirming.
3. What if we have fewer than 10 guests?
The booking minimum is $600, even when the headcount total is lower. Ten adults on Standard is $600. The minimum includes travel inside our service area. Gratuity is separate, and the final price can still change with the menu, address, rentals, or upgrades.
4. What is included in the price?
Every set includes a private chef, the hibachi grill, the food, fried rice, vegetables, salad, yum yum, soy, and teriyaki, plus the live cooking show. Standard is $60 for adults and $30 for children, and each guest chooses 2 proteins. Premium is $80 and $40, choose 3. Deluxe is $120 and $60, choose 3.
5. Which proteins can we choose?
Standard choices are chicken, New York steak, premium shrimp, premium scallops, salmon, and tofu. Premium adds filet mignon and select lobster. Deluxe adds A5 Wagyu, jumbo shrimp, and jumbo scallops. Garlic noodles or edamame can be added for $5. A filet mignon upgrade is $5, and a lobster upgrade is $10.
6. How are children priced?
Children 13 and under use the child price on the same package as the adults: $30 on Standard, $40 on Premium, and $60 on Deluxe. Tell us the child count when you request a quote.
7. How do I reserve a date?
Call, text, or send the form on the contact page. We check the date and the address first. A form request is not a confirmed reservation. After we confirm, a $200 deposit holds the date and applies to the balance. If the quote lists a different deposit, follow the quote. Pay only after the date is confirmed.
8. How do we pay the deposit?
Zelle 626-509-0255 or Venmo @zhihao-yan-1. Put your full name and the event date in the note so we can match the payment to the party.
9. What should we set up before the chef arrives?
Please have tables, chairs, dinner plates, salad plates, utensils, napkins, and drinks ready. We bring the chef, the grill, the food, the sauces, and the show. Tables, chairs, linens, place settings, setup, and cleanup can be added as rentals. Call if you want those included in the quote.
10. Can you handle allergies or a guest who does not eat meat?
Tell us about allergies before the party so the chef can plan the cooking order. A guest list with each person’s proteins helps. Tofu is on every package for guests who do not eat meat.
11. Where do you cook?
Los Angeles, including Pasadena, West LA, Burbank, and the San Gabriel Valley. The Inland Empire, including Riverside, Chino, Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga, and Temecula. Desert cities, including Palm Springs, Palm Desert, La Quinta, Indio, Joshua Tree, and Yucca Valley. San Diego, including La Jolla, Encinitas, and La Mesa. Outside these cities, call and we will check chef availability. Corporate events at offices and private estates are welcome.
12. Is gratuity included?
No. Gratuity for the chef is separate from the menu price and the $600 minimum.
